    4th of July Fun

Fireworks08 The night sky will be lit up this weekend with fireworks. They can be really fun. But you have to take precautions to make sure you don't get injured. Burn and eye injuries are the most common related to fireworks. And they happen every year. Follow these rules to make sure you don't get injured yourself.

    • If you light sparklers and firecrackers, two of the most popular and dangerous items, make sure you keep them away from your face and clothes. They get extremely hot.
    • Don't light fireworks in your hand.
    • Buy fresh fireworks. Don't light those that have been sitting around for years.
    • Make sure a water supply, like a hose or bucket of water is available.
    • Never ever aim or point fireworks at other people.
    • Don't carry fireworks in your pocket. Friction can set them off.
    • Don't try to relight a dud.
    • Don't attempt to pick up a firework off the ground, it may not be finished.
    • Keep your pets inside. They are especially sensitive to the loud noises from fireworks.
